The famous French Toile de Jouy was founded in 1760 by Christophe-Phillipe Oberkampf, produced near the Bievre River, close to Paris. The pastoral image was adored at the time by the French aristocracy and bourgeoisie. Besides the usual designs inspired by true stories, novels, or legends, the nature theme was often depicted with trees, flowers, and birds. This traditional wallpaper is an ode to nature; through this detailed pattern, natures intrinsic elements unfold, inhabiting and uniting different forms of life on the wall.
